Love oatmeal?  .. Then this is the recipe for you!  It's the combination of granola cereal meets oatmeal cookie, and although it's fat content is higher the benefits of oatmeal are excellent for you and your family.

**Healthy Tidbit**

Can help you control and maintain your weight
Contains soluble fiber
Has a multitude of vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants
Quick and easy

Did you know that it takes certain vitamins to make other vitamins function?  -Yeah, crazy.. right?  Ok, there's another time and post for that conversation.  ;)

Gather up your Ingredients...
Quick Oats or Old Fashioned
(The above photo features quick oats.  I did not care for the texture, size, and consistency of this type of oatmeal.- Go by what you and your family prefer)
Eggs
Baking Powder
Milk
Cinnamon
Sugar
Vanilla
Salt
Butter

Now, for the recipe click on this link--> Freezer Friendly Baked Oatmeal.

After you've combined everything (it's THAT easy!) you can either package it up and slap it into the freezer or you can bake it at 350 for about 30-45 minutes.

Yummo!

100% Whole Wheat Bread

Recipe
One of my goal's this year has been to make my own bread.  I don't have a bread maker so I knew that this was going to be mixing and kneading my little heart out until I created this amazing loaf.  Where to start?  I found this nifty little recipe for 100% Whole Wheat Bread on the back of the Rapid Yeast package.. so I figured that they "might" know a little something about what they're talking about.

This prompted me to move along and boogie down to the bread making!  ;)

Gather your ingredients, ladies and gent's!
Ingredients
Whole Wheat Flour
Vegetable Oil
Honey
Salt
Rapid Rising Yeast
Milk
Water

Please refer to the above for the recipe.

Bake It
Combine milk, honey, salt, oil, and water on medium to low heat until warm.

Combine dry ingredients (use only 3/4's of the total of the overall flour usage first- refer to recipe- you'll add in the rest later)

When wet ingredients are sufficient, mix in slowly to dry ingredients.  Refer to recipe for amount usage.

Flour up your space 'cause you're going to do some kneading!

***Tip for proper kneading***  Make sure hands are dry and then apply a small amount of flour to hands so you can handle the dough without it sticking to you.. your fingers.. your hair.. you get it.  ;)

Take your rolling pin and stretch the dough out into 12 x 7 and then roll up starting from the short end.  Fold in sides and then lay in coated baking dish (or bread pan) with the seam on the bottom.

Now, this was the part I did not see on the package- You MUST let it rest and rise before baking it for about 30-60 minutes.

Bake It

Once it's doubled in size, plop it into the oven for about 30-60 minutes.

 Eating Time

Isn't she pretty?

That looks Yummo to my Tummo!

About Us

Foooooooooood!  Food is good!  For that matter, food is amazing!  [Said in super high, excited voice!]

Yummo to my Tummo was started because we love to cook!  My sister and I are your typical, G.R.I.T.S., aka girls raised in the south.  I am Candice and my sister is Courtney, and we're both in our 20's.  Developing this website was specifically out of our desire to cook and experiment with recipes inside our home.  You can visit the "About Me" tab for more biographies so you can get to know the cooks a little better.

You will find that a lot of our recipes will be family friendly, easy to freeze, and even recipes for smaller two to three servings versions/portions.  As Courtney and I, have collaborated closely here we decided that it would best to write from a single woman's prospective and from a mother's prospective.  On that note, you can be sure to find kid-friendly food here to try out, as well as food that isn't time consuming.  We are also very excited to share some tips and tricks that we have personally learned over the last several years.

We can't wait to share with you!
